Meet the Dignity Consulting Team

John is an educator, author, and speaker who specializes in transformative change through professional learning and organizational development. Focused on inclusive work and learning environments, he centers belonging and dignity as the concepts that help people thrive. John has been an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University since 2007, and for fifteen years he served as the coordinator of diversity, equity and inclusion in a school district of over 50,000 students. Additionally, he has served as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, and professional development facilitator. John has authored articles and books, and he is the co-author of Belonging Through a Culture of Dignity: The Keys to Successful Equity Implementation.

Floyd has over 20 years of experience spanning the P-20 educational continuum, fifteen of which have been in leadership roles. He’s held roles as a classroom teacher, school leader, district curriculum leader, and a statewide policy implementer. In each role he has held responsibilities as a key leader making educational experiences more equitable. Floyd holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver. There, he is an adjunct faculty member and teaches courses on social inequality through the lenses of race, class, and gender. In 2017, Floyd was awarded the Ruth Murray Underhill Teaching Award for excellence in teaching, which is given to one adjunct faculty member at the university. He has published numerous articles and book chapters and is the author of the book Belonging Through a Culture of Dignity, which focuses on dignity as a key component of equity implementation.

Dr. Jen Tiller has more than 20 years of leadership experience at the school, district and regional levels. A dynamic and highly skilled facilitator, she has made her career focus on growing the capacity of others. Dr. Tiller has designed and delivered small to large-scale leadership development programs and facilitated countless learning experiences nationwide using a variety of engagement platforms. As Chief Academic Officer of Missouri’s largest educational service agency, she provided programming to support the diverse learning needs of more than 60 school systems. This unique perspective fuels her commitment to ensuring equity is a forethought in how we lead and serve our educational communities. A St. Louis native, Dr. Tiller bears witness to the damaging impact of marginalization. Following the 2014 events in Ferguson, her team created an annual summit for students to engage in purposeful conversation about social and cultural differences. Working with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, she supported the development of equity leadership competencies, as well as the design and delivery of learning experiences for statewide implementation.

Dr. LaDonna Monson Gulley began her career as a 1992 Teach For America Corps member. Starting in Houston, Texas, Dr. Gulley taught fifth and second grades in Houston ISD. Her career took her to East Baton Rouge Parish Schools in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and then to the Parents As Teachers Program at New Concept Self-Development Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has taught sixth, seventh, eighth, and collegiate levels for Dallas ISD, Mesquite ISD, and Dallas College. For twelve years, she served as an administrator in Mesquite Independent School District (TX) at a top-performing elementary campus before assuming the newly created role of Director of Leadership and Empowerment in February 2021. Dr. Gulley values accountability and stewardship. Her belief in “What’s Best for Kids,” use of belonging and dignity to address equity, and communication and transparency has allowed her to propel her present community from an area where students don’t simply survive but thrive. She is also a proud mom of two college-educated daughters, a sister, and an aunt. The empowerment of children and young people has always been at the forefront of her career. It is her ONE thing.

Dr. Razia Kosi’s research supported school administrators in the areas of cultural competence, equity, and social justice. Currently the Coordinator of Culturally Responsive Practices and Anti-Racism Development in a Maryland public school system, she is also co-chair of the Maryland State Department of Education’s Network for Equity and Excellence in Education and is one of the authors of the state policy on Educational Equity. She is also a co-founder of the Asian American Educators of Howard County and serves on the board of directors. Dr. Kosi earned her doctorate from the School of Education at Johns Hopkins University and has served as an adjunct professor for McDaniel College and Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, Dr. Kosi is dedicated to ending stigma with mental health in the South Asian community, co-founding Counselors Helping (South) Asians/Indians, Inc. (CHAI) a nonprofit organization addressing mental health concerns in the community. She has served on the executive board on the Division on South Asian Americans (DoSAA), and the Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA).

Summer Snyder is passionate about inclusive and equitable classrooms and schools. With over twenty years of specialized experience supporting differentiated instruction, she currently serves as the Differentiation Coordinator for a district serving over 55,000 students in eight municipalities in Denver, Colorado. In her role, Summer facilitates a range of professional learning and development opportunities to help schools build the capacity to meet the diverse needs of all learners in all content areas. She has been a classroom teacher, coordinator of Inside/Out Program, member of the District Equity Team, the Gifted and Talented Resource Teacher, and an Instructional Coach. Additionally, Summer organized and implemented G.I.R.L.S. (Girls Inspiring Responsibility & Leadership Success) a district initiative that inspires, encourages, and empowers Black girls in first through fifth grades. She has been honored with the Golden Heart Award, the Excellence Award for Organizations, and the Superintendent Making a Difference Award. Summer is a collegiate athlete with degrees in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Curriculum and Instruction.

Dr. Nathan Hostetler most recently served as the principal at Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles, MO.. There, he led the community through a transformative process using the concepts of dignity and belonging, creating a leadership template for the Belonging Through Dignity process. Nathan and his wife have a daughter and a set of twin boys. A native Ohioan, Dr. Hostetler completed his B.A. in English in 2001 and his M.A. in Education Administration in 2004, both from Lindenwood Maryville University in St. Louis. Dr. Hostetler taught English for five years and has been a school administrator since 2006. He enjoys reading and loves to cycle.

Trent Hall helps organizations address equity and inclusion through his consultation and facilitation services related to empathy, communication, and conflict-management. He brings leadership, staff, and students together to transform culture and climate through the concepts of belonging and dignity. Trent has facilitated the transformation of a wide-range of organizations, including pK-12 schools, institutions of higher education, and international entities that promote democratic values. While on staff at Penn State University (PSU), Hall served as a dialogue instructor, facilitator, and coach, and he developed the foundation of the Global/Virtual Dialogue Platform. He provided services for a variety of groups including graduate and undergraduate students, local school systems, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) cadets preparing to work in conflict areas in numerous countries. Before becoming a full-time consultant, Trent served the community through the local government of Howard County (MD), championing community dialogue that reinforced the county’s goals of diversity and inclusiveness, in the Office of Community Outreach and Constituent Services and the Office of Human Rights.
